About Today Is Sunday, February 5, 2012
Artistic creativity has to be directed not to the humanity in general, but to a concret personalities,
to the society, that is chosen by an artist as an attendant, addresser of his art. That way, only, is
possible to avoid the abstractness and the detachment of the arts from life.

It must not be a self aim to create something new; it must not be an artificial, fake.

A serious attitude to the art means, that the new, progressive has to find it’s way through the creativity of an artist, so as, if he was solving an unknown canon of the nature.

ANTON BALANCHIVADZE
"Born on 27'th of July 1978
Lives and Works in Tbilisi, Georgia
Anton splits into two his imaginative space and tells us stories talking of a universe and an era created by his existence.
The diversities and identities coexist inside a universe: the universe of his identity.
Therefore, the artist presents himself as the creator of new identities, of codes, playing also with real lives. What we find here is a kind of ludicrous internal splitting, where the characters, during their creation, are transformed into actors and spectators of themselves.
This is how, through his inner universe, Anton shows us new identities.
Placing his work in a stylistic trend it results difficult. For his thematic, it could be considered “Inspirational Art”, however, based on the way it is made it could belong to the so called “Naïf”.
We can see in the spirit that nourishes this artist of Georgian origins the sensitivity that he transmits, the dedication with which he creates his paintings, the meticulous work that he develops in each work, every day.
We can see the transparent brushstroke of the painting that truthfully tells us, through light and colour, about the personality of the artist.
This is a kind of art where the personal dedication of the artist transpires as someone who is meticulous and who believes in his work.
The canvases and paintings of Anton Balanchivadze, absorbed with subtlety, vibrate of light and colours with a touch of harmony that finds the beauty in simple things, in an “Annunciation”.

Listen my King, Listen ...
A refined and detailed technique is evident in his works. A technique, inherited from his ancestors, that he fully develops and that he mixes with his savvy election of subjects and compositions, creating a personal and original vision of reality.
We are assisting here to the growth and evolution of an artist at his highest level of “artistic” life, for we are very proud of his presence at Camden Art Gallery – London, during this exhibition".
