Frequently Asked Questions

Here you can find answers to the most frequently asked questions about the artist’s work, commissions, and upcoming projects.

1. What artistic mediums does Anton Balanchivadze work with?

Anton Balanchivadze is a contemporary artist whose practice spans multiple mediums, with a primary focus on painting. He works with color across canvas, cardboard, paper, and mixed media, complemented by work in sculpture, installations, objects, light-based compositions and performance pieces (Freezlight). His materials include oil, acrylic, watercolor, and experimental techniques.

In addition to visual art, Anton is engaged in film and video, creating short experimental scenes, visual studies, and atmospheric compositions that reflect his interest in cinematic language. His interdisciplinary approach — moving between painting, space, light, and moving image — gives his work a distinctive, recognizable voice.

2. Where can I view Anton Balanchivadze’s artworks online?

A curated selection of his works is presented in the “Gallery” section of this website. In addition, new pieces, sketches, and more informal updates are shared through a dedicated Facebook page and special Facebook group, where works are posted from time to time as they become available.

3. How can I purchase Anton’s artworks?

New works, especially small and medium formats, are most often offered for sale through a special Facebook group.

For larger formats or if you are generally interested in acquiring a painting, we recommend contacting the artist’s official Facebook page. The page is managed with support from collaborators, who will respond and help you find out which works can be purchased at the moment and what options are available.

You can reach out also via the Contact section of this website

4. Can I request a custom painting or commission?

For questions regarding orders, we recommend contacting the artist directly through their official Facebook page or via the Contact section of this website. Your message will be forwarded to the artist for a personal discussion of possibilities, formats, and creative direction. Please note that commissions are accepted only for new, original works. The artist does not recreate or duplicate existing or previously sold pieces.

5. Can I commission a Freezlight (light-based) artwork?

Freezlight works are created exclusively in collaboration with photographer Anton Sokolov. Please send a letter, via the Contact section of this website or contact the official Facebook page to be connected with the artist for a personal discussion.
Keep in mind that because this technique involves drawing with light sourse in real space, using for example a flaming torch as the primary drawing tool, the final result may take the form of a photographic or video-based work, depending on the concept and conditions of the session.

6. Is Anton available for collaborations with sculptors, architects, curators, or creative teams?

Yes. Anton collaborates with sculptors, architects, landscape designers, curators, and various creative professionals. He develops visual concepts, contributes to spatial projects, and participates in collaborative exhibitions and installations.

7. How can I learn about upcoming projects or exhibitions?

Updates about ongoing and upcoming projects can be followed through the Home page, where the left-side section is refreshed regularly — sometimes featuring new paintings, and at other times announcing upcoming exhibitions or projects.
Additional news, behind-the-scenes material, sketches, and announcements are also shared on the artist’s official Facebook page.

8. How do I know if a specific artwork is still available?

Artworks shared through a dedicated Facebook page include a clear Sold label only when they have already been acquired. If a work does not display this label, it may be available — therefore, the best way to confirm availability is to contact us and the artist directly through this page or by sending a message via the Contact form on this site.

Please note that new artworks sometimes exist in the studio before they appear online. If you are interested in recently created pieces or would like to know whether new works are already available, feel free to inquire — the team will provide updated information.

9. Does Anton offer talks, workshops, or educational sessions?

Yes. Anton occasionally offers talks, lectures, workshops, and educational sessions focused not only on contemporary art, light-based techniques, compositional thinking, and interdisciplinary creative processes, but also on broader cultural and artistic topics. His lectures often explore influential artists, historical and conceptual themes, and a wide range of deeper questions that connect art with philosophy, perception, and creative thought.

10. How can I contact Anton for commissions or collaboration proposals?

You can reach out via the Contact section of this website or through the official Facebook page. Responses are usually provided within 12-24 hours, depending on the project load.
